Teams came from Young, Harden, Binalong, Boorowa, Boorowa Ex-Service, Stockinbingal, Bribbaree, Quandialla, Cootamundra Ex-Services Club (two), a District President team and Cootamundra Country Club (four).
Two games of 15 ends were played.
Cootamundra Country Club Bowls President Mike Barber and Vice-President Ron Rosengreen were unavailable and it was the President’s team of Graham Davidson (skip), Don Manwaring (3rd), John Malone (2nd) and Arthur Ward (lead) that were drawn to play against the District President, Cliff Traynor and his team from Young. In a very close match, the local team prevailed.
Graham Davidson and his team backed up the mornings form with an excellent display of bowls to beat the Quandialla team convincingly. With 28 points for the day this allowed the team to be the tournament winners for the day.
Runners-up for the day on 27 points were the Harden combination of Brian Gibson (lead), Barney Heywood (2nd), Shane McKellar (3rd) and Rod James (skip).
