A Riverina man has been flown to Canberra Hospital after his car crashed into a tree on Burley Griffin Way, Stockinbingal on Wednesday morning.
Police say the accident happened near Porters Lane after the car left the road about 4am.
It’s believed the man, aged in his 40s, had been trapped for several hours before emergency crews were called to help.
Traffic slowing measures were put in place as emergency crews including police, ambulance and the SES spent three hours freeing the man from the wreckage.
The man sustained leg and chest injuries and was conscious throughout the ordeal.
He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
