Jenny Ricketts put up an outstanding effort at the South West District Singles Final played in Young, against Elsie Hines from the Young Bowling Club last Thursday. Jenny went down by just one point to make the final score  25 to 24.ot to win,

Jenny had made her way to the final defeating Lisa Nicholls from Stockinbingal (25 to 4); Kate Cooper from Young (25 to 11) and Marge Parker from Young (25 to 21)

The Final was a great game between two very good bowlers and there was very little in it right throughout the match. With Jenny only needing one shot to win, it looked as though she would get away with the match. But Elsie, trailing by a couple of shots, fought back strongly to get up on the line and win by one shot.

It was a great match, by two very good bowlers at their best; it was just a shame someone had to lose.:

This week

On Sunday, the bowlers are holding a Mixed Pairs afternoon, starting at 1 pm. Names are to be in by 12.30 pm. The afternoon is to raise funds to send our Ladies Pennant Teams to Terrigal in August, to aid with the cost of transport and accommodation.

Entry for the afternoon will be $10 and there will be prizes and nibbles after the games. All bowlers are asked to support the afternoon and anyone who is not a bowler, but would like to have a roll will be welcome.
