9am: ROTARY markets at Boorowa until 2pm at Old Court House Grounds near the Post Office. $10 a stall. On every fourth Saturday. As the Autumn Equinox is this week (March 20) the theme will be Equinox and Harvest Time. Contact Jayne Apps 0428 622 755.
From 9.30am: Lambing Flat Chinese Festival this Saturday. Celebrate the Year of the Rooster and mark Young’s gold rush history and the important contribution of the Chinese in the development of Australia. The festival will feature the colourful sights, sounds.
SUNDAY, MARCH 26
9am: Pig Push official send off - Country Education Foundation Boorowa Fundraiser at 107 Pudman Street, Boorowa. The 2017 CEF Pig Push is an on on-road charity event with all funds raised going to Country Education Foundation to support further education, training, jobs and mentoring for rural and regional young people. Supporters will be covering 200 kilometres across country NSW in an attempt to go the whole hog for this great cause. It's their mission to raise over $50,000 through sponsors and fundraising events along the way. There will be local celebrations and a "Blessing of the Pig" before the team set off on the first leg to Frogmore.
THURSDAY, MARCH 30
7pm: Galong information meeting for the proposed future use of the former St Lawrence precinct. The Bethlehem Communities Australia is proposing to utilise the buildings for a purpose to be advised at a community meeting to be held at the Galong Village Hall at 7pm. Please attend if you wish to be informed of the nature of the proposal and have your views known on the proposal.
