Ms Hanson joined the train of trucks heading to drought-stricken on a three-day trip covering 1572km to Muttaburra in Queensland’s central west.

The now famous Hay Run cause is something Ms Hanson has previous thrown her weight behind, and continues to prioritise despite her responsibilities coming with a return to the Senate.

“I know I am in a position as Senator and nothing has changed,” she said.

“The guys told me they were surprised to see me turn up yesterday and thought I would be too busy and I said not for this.”

Ms Hanson will make her third trip with the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners and said it's the reaction from the towns as well as the reactions from truckies themselves keeping her coming back.

“It is travelling through these small communities where a lot of them are actually dying,” she said.

“To see the enthusiasm from the people that are lining the streets and they were so excited and at the end of it to see the farmers turn up in their droves to pick up their allotted hay.

“It’s strong, tough farmers and wives with tears in their eyes ...”

The fleet of around 130 trucks will spend a day unloading the trucks to help the affected farmers on arrival at the Queensland town.
