A wonderful week of events is planned for Seniors Festival 2017, with a kick-off BBQ at the Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Garden in Young on Sunday, March 5. Local musical talent will be on hand so bring your own seat or blanket and enjoy. This event is free but will require booking by March 2 through Council’s Administration Office to ensure sufficient catering.

The Mystery Bus Trip leaves the Young Visitor Information Centre at 9 am on Monday, March 6 and will pick up Boorowa and Harden residents outside the Harden Council Chambers at 9.30 am (Community Transport is available for Boorowa residents to meet the Harden bus). Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Cost is $20 per person and numbers are limited so please book early.
The 1942 classic movie Casablanca will be back on the big screen at Southern Cross Cinema in Young on Thursday, March 9. The movie starts at 1 pm and the cost is $10 for the movie only (pay at the door). Please note there is a snack bar at the cinema available for an extra fee.
The week will end with a Supper and Dance at the Boorowa Recreation Club. The event will include a two course meal and musical entertainment. The cost for the evening is $10 (drinks purchased individually) and bookings are essential by March 6.
Nominations for Senior of the Year must be received by Council by Monday, March 6, with winners to be announced at the Boorowa Supper and Dance.
