Once again our octogenarians are showing up men nearly half their age. In the club stableford event last Saturday, Ron Kerr has demoralised the field again by shooting a score less than his age.

Ron has produced a ripper round of 44 points which equates to an 82 off the whalloper for a 63 nett. That is white hot scoring in anybody's books. Ron is slowly paying the price with his handicap almost tumbling at a rate of a shot a round lately.
Daylight was second, yet the ball comp started four points behind with Peter Steinke and Tim Beveridge sharing these honours at 40 points.
The comeback kid was next for a ball with Brian Tredinnick recording 39 stableford points this week. Last ball for the day went to Ronnie Page at 38 points on a countback.
The Bendigo Bank Hole in One was not won, but nearest the pin was Herb Manwaring at 7.4m.
Hang on, that would almost put it in the left bunker with that pin placement last Saturday. Hmmmmmm.
Billy Kildea 1st, 2nd and everything else
As we know the bulk of the field has two outings per week, aiming for the midweek golf comp goodies bag.
Octogenarian Ron Kerr has shattered the golf field yet again!

My favourite rose in the field most weeks is Billy Kildea and this week he won the exacta, the quinella and the daily double.
Billy knocked out a sweet round of 32 stableford points on the Wednesday round. That's right, a mere eight shots better than his handicap on the par 24 point, 12-hole layout.
Proving that consistency is his middle name, Bill has fronted on Friday and recorded a 31 point round (this time seven better than his handicap) to instead shirtfront the field. Billy has paid for his sins by forfeiting a whole eight shots off his midweek handicap. He now resumes battle this week at a much tougher 12 handicap.
Graeme Taylor mustered the next best round for the week with 31 points, whilst Peter Steinke and Peter Steinke tied for third with 27 and 27 points respectively.
It's like déja vu all over again this week..
