It spells a huge weekend for the Hawks. Following their two matches on the Saturday, the club will return to the Harden Country Club from 6pm, where they will be hosting a fundraising auction in honour of Lui Polimeni.
Items being auctioned include a signed Wigan jersey, as well as a signed Canberra Raiders jersey. ARTC have put $500 towards the cause also. There have been a number of other donations and all money raised on the night, will go to Ronald McDonald House charity in Canberra.
Impressively, Harden’s rugby league crew have already raised $2500 in donations, which is very good, considering they initially set out to make $1000.
Hawks fans will be able to wind back the clock on Saturday at McLean Oval. Michael Quinn, the current senior coach of Harden and one of the club’s most celebrated players is also getting into the spirit of the day. Along with Boorowa coach, Stuart Gay, Quinn has agreed to put the boots on and the initiative is expected to add to the occasion.
A summary of the weekend includes the deb ball on Friday night. Game day consists of the Youth League playing Gunghalin at 1.30pm and the seniors clashing with Boorowa at 3pm. Then on Saturday evening a large crowd will assemble at the Country Club for the auction.
