On a bitterly cold day in Binalong with a small crowd and a slow surface, it appeared as though history was about to repeat itself for the Brahmans in their latest Woodridge Cup match against Gooloogong.

The Cowboys who have only won the solitary game for the season, forced a 22 all draw at Gooloogong against their more highly fancied opponents earlier in the year.
With some excellent forced pressure, the Brahmans were once again finding it difficult to allowed to play their brand of football.
Gooloogong scored the first try of the afternoon, 10 minutes into the match and the home side followed with an unconverted try 5 minutes later.
Clearly Binalong started the game in average fashion and their ball control was poor.
There were also ill acts of discipline which meant that several careless penalties abounded.
As a result, the Brahmans found themselves behind 4-6 at half time after what was considered a forgettable first half by their standards.
Coming out from the break, Binalong were expected to be more clinical with their ball use and general play, but again they seemed to labour for the first 15 minutes of the second half.
What the home side needed was some spark and it came through the agency of Henry Paton. The man playing centre somehow found a new gear and brought the Brahman spectators to life in the process.
From this time until the end of the match, Binalong looked much more like the team that has earned itself a spot just shy of top of the ladder at this point in the season.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the game began to open up and they seemed powerless to stop it and with some clever set plays resulting in tries things were starting to really happen for the home team.
Another player to come to life in the second half was Craig Irwin who starred by foot, kicking 3 goals and scoring a try himself.
He found an ally in prop Reuben Olahup, who upped the ante after half time.
Predictably veteran Tony Worthy put in his usual strong performance, whilst ever reliable full back Andrew Swaffield also played a good game.
The only sour note throughout the match was a leg injury to winger Daniel Poidevin, which prevented him from finishing the game.
He will be monitored closely during the week as next Saturday, Binalong meet ladder leaders the Peak Hill Roosters in what promises to be a terrific game starting at 3pm at the Binalong Recreation Ground.
