And their methods certainly work as their garden would have to be most productive block of land in town.
Operating as David’s Garden, their yard in Swift Street features thousands of plants ranging from seedlings to fruit trees and nearly everything in between.
He has supplied neighbouring shires with thousands of plants for their street gardens.
David says that mulch needs to be at least 50cm deep and that he prefers to use a tea tree mulch as its properties stop earwigs and slaters breeding under it.
When keeping plants in pots it is essential the pots have trays under them to reduce water loss and that square fluted pots are best as these pots encourage the plants roots go straight down.
He says that it is best to water plants on demand or when they need rather than following a set pattern.
And when planting out from pots make sure that the hole the plant goes into is at least twice the size of the pot they have come from.
