Monica O’Connor, president of the Harden branch of Can Assist announced the bequest at Can Assist’s breakfast, which was held in the hall at the Murrumburrah High School on Saturday morning, which drew a large number of community members.
Mrs O’Connor said that Trish Kemp died from cancer in 2008 and Graham died from cancer in 2013.
She said the bequest was very generous and that all the money would be used in Harden Murrumburrah.
“It is a sobering thought that someone could care so much about the prevention of cancer and the trials it brings that they leave this amount of money to help make life easier for our cancer patients. They will never walk alone,” she said.
