Latrobe Health Services Foundation CEO Ian Whitehead said the new app will have a strong focus on early prevention.
"It (the app design) will be evidence and clinically led, that's a first in Australia, particularly for a program this size and scale," Mr Whitehead said.
The app will equip the user with tools to help prevent health problems.
"Tackling trauma before it escalates, and providing support for stress, anxiety, depression before they become serious," Mr Whitehead said.

Latrobe Health Services has partnered with Phoenix Australia for a new foundation that launched with $10 million worth of funding.
The app was designed by Phoenix Australia with the help of international researchers and academics.
With the assistance of AI, the app will be designed to target a broad range of symptoms, including post-traumatic stress, before they escalate.
Mr Whitehead grew up in regional NSW and knows first-hand the struggle of receiving appropriate help in these communities.
"We will work with rural and regional communities on the design of it (the app)," he said.
"Whether you are a grain farmer in the Riverina or you're a dairy farmer in Gippsland, there are differences."
Latrobe Health Services has a strong history of supporting the community in early prevention.
