Trash-talking between the duo has begun with Tyson saying "it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a 'kid' can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT (greatest of all time)".
Paul, brother of influencer and WWE wrestler Logan Paul, hit back saying "I idolised Mike Tyson until the first time I met him 4 years ago...he called me Logan".
"Going to make sure he knows who I am real close and personal," he said.
The fight will be broadcast from Texas' AT&T stadium on July 20 and screened on Netflix. Paul is promoting the show through his company Most Valuable Promotions.
It's not the first time the Paul brothers have generated international media attention by fighting a well-known or respected opponent.
Logan Paul went head to head with Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr., with no winner announced, in 2021.
Outside of his online antics, Jake Paul has become a respected boxer in his own right, having amassed a 9-1 record with six knockouts.
"It's crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson's undercard," Paul said.
"Now, less than four years later, I'm stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing's most notorious fighters and biggest icons."
