A light plane has crashed into the ocean off the Sunshine Coast in Queensland after it reportedly lost one of its twin engines.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said two people were found clinging to a life raft near Maroochydore.
An emergency distress signal was sent from the plane carrying two men, aged 51 and 59 years, just before 9am.
The pilot and his passenger were safely retrieved from the water and taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further assessment.

Their Cessna Challenger Learjet reportedly crashed into the ocean at Barwon Bank dive site while flying from Caloundra airport to the Solomon Islands.
"They were about 65 miles east of the Sunshine Coast when they started losing altitude," Queensland police sergeant Kyle Bates told the ABC.
"Immediately two helicopters were tasked to the area as well as surface assets," he said
"Unfortunately for the occupants they did have to ditch. But fortunately, they have been able to prepare for it."
