This makes winning considerably tougher with even one missed putt possibly making the difference.
Too strong this week and clawing his way back down slowly to the handicap he should be on, was our wily Scotsman. Tam has crafted a sweet 40 points or 4 better than his handicap to take out the Tegra gift voucher.
Michael Baldry struck the ball sweetly all day and claimed second, with a nice little 38 points or 2 better than his handicap. Tam and Michael both felt some heat in the handicapping room as their deduction factors start to head south.
Balls went back to 35 points and were awarded to Robert Bates (37), Darrell Cassidy (37) and Maurice Manwaring (35).
MARJ MANWARING MAULS MIDWEEKERS
Slowly rising back into form ready for 2020 is the force known as Marjie. Not just sneaking back to the podium, Marj has stolen the podium, poured diesel on it and burnt it to the ground with a breathtaking 34 stableford points.
For a 12 hole course with a par of 24 points, this is a remarkable result for Marjie, a massive 10 shots better than her handicap. Winning comes at a cost in the midweek comp though. Under the Galloway Handicapping system, Marj has lost the whole 10 shots off her handicap and leaves her back at 19 shots to resume this week's battles.
Coming second on another great score was Bob Martin who had 30 points. Bob is a constant podium placer of late and it will not be long before he steals the show.
Way back in third on 25 points was the man who has to let his wife have crowing rights for the week. Herb Manwaring was that man and washing up duties look like the flavour of the week in the Manwaring house.
Jim Wright claimed the random, mystery ball prize for the week.
SCOTT FULLER - COOTA ON SUNDAY
This Sunday, February 2 is our final fight for the 2019/20 Scott Fuller Shield.
We are holding a good lead at present but cannot take this for granted, as Temora do travel en masse and will claim good points.
The match is 9.30 for a 10am shotgun at Cootamundra. Names must be on the nomination sheets on our bar by Friday evening before it is faxed.
Let's do it Harden!
