Mayor Ingram and Hilltops Council would like to extend their heartfelt thoughts to those affected by the devastating fire event and reassure them that they are not alone.
"We acknowledge that this has been and will continue to be a long fire season and we want to support those who need our help during these stressful times," Mayor Ingram said.
"We welcome the support of the local business community and residents to help make a difference to those who have been affected.
"We recognise the incredible efforts of the Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire and Rescue, NSW Police and other emergency services and volunteers who have been working tirelessly to defend those threatened by fires.
"The recovery process is going to be long and every dollar will count toward helping the communities affected get back on their feet."
Hilltops Council is a member of the Canberra Region Joint Organisation and Cr Ingram said they work closely with a number of Mayors and General Managers of shires directly impacted by the fires.
He said Hilltops would like to be able to lend a helping hand to them in their time of need.
"I know they would do the same for us," he said.
Donations are tax deductible and can be deposited to the below account or at any Hilltops Council office or branch of the Commonwealth Bank.
One hundred per cent of proceeds will go directly to those in need.
Account name: MAYORAL BUSHFIRES RELIEF FUND

"On behalf of my fellow councillors and the staff of Hilltops Council I would like to extend a huge thank you to all our firefighters and everyone helping with the ongoing efforts to protect these communities," Cr Ingram said.
"Now is the time to look after each other and a donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated."
