Our girls got off to a flying start and in only the third minute, Maddie Douglas sliced through the Crookwell defence out wide to score, making it 4 to 0.
In the 11th minute, Grace Smith made a solo 50 metre dash to score in the corner, allowing the Hawkettes to lead 8 to 0.
In the 15th minute, a great ball from Emma James allowed Jess Doolan to cut through and offload to Erin Boxsell, who went on to score another try, which was then converted by Emma James.
The Hawkettes continued to build the pressure. A further two penalty goals to Emma James made the score 18 to 0 at the halftime break.
Given that the Hawkettes had only conceded 12 points all season, it was going to be a big ask of Crookwell to take the win.
In the second half, Clare Smith made a break and ran 70 metres to score a great solo try.
Shortly after, the Crookwell girls hit back with a converted try, making the score 24 to 6 with 15 minutes left in the game.
Any chance Crookwell had left was put to rest when Georgia Smith swooped on a wayward kick from Crookwell and ran 40 metres to score.
The Hawkettes now led 28 to 6, but wanted more.
Another great run from Maddie Douglas, the ability to draw the fullback and chip over the top for Georgia Smith to regather and score a sensational try, followed by a successful conversion by Emma James and it was all over.
The Hawkettes won with a final score 34 to 6, capping off a great day, winning back to back undefeated premierships.
Emma James was named 'Best Player' of the match.
Other players that shone on the day were Maddie Douglas, Clare Smith, Georgia Smith, Grace Smith, Jess Doolan and Bridie Minehan, but the whole team must be congratulated on a terrific team effort for the whole season.
Hope to see you all again next season, when the mighty Harden Hawkettes will go for the hat trick.
