The Western Region Inter School Public Speaking Semi-finals were held last Monday at Trinity Catholic School in Murrumburrah.

Trinity students competed against students from St Joseph's School in Boorowa in their age groups
Guest judges were Hilltops Councillor Rita O'Connor, Gayle Lander and Carmel Babos.
The judges commented that the quality of the sixteen finalists' speeches was of an exceptionally high standard.
"The manner in which the students prepared and delivered their speeches is to be commended." was one comment.
The judges thanked the teachers and parents for the assistance given to all the speakers and for bringing them to this very high level.
The morning concluded with Presentations followed by morning tea in the school Library.
Certificates were presented to all competitors. Speakers were: Billy Corkhill, Toby Corkhill, Jessie Kelly and Emerson Mann-Rea from Year 3.
Year 4 students were Alice Dymock, Will Kelly, Talia McKay and Jemima Mergard
Year 5 students were Tilla Bowman, Delilah Cross, Poppy Lucas and Mylee Taylor.
Finally, speaking from Year 6 were Lucy Bowman, Sara Collins, Molly Kelly and Amber McKay.
Year 6 student, Sara Collins said that she was happy she was able to take part in the event.
"It was great getting to speak in front of such a large crowd." Sara said.
Fellow Year 6 student, Amber McKay, said she also enjoyed the experience of speaking in front of the crowd.
"It was a fun experience, speaking and getting the timing right."
Presentations were then made to the 2019 Inter School Public Speaking Champions and Runners Up.
In Year 3, the Champion was Emerson Mann-Rea and Runner up Billy Corkhill.
"The whole competition was fun." Emerson said.
"It will help to give me confidence when I am older."
Year 4 Champion was Alice Dymock and Runner up was Talia McKay.
Year 5 Champion was Delilah Cross and Runner up was Poppy Lucas
Year 6 Champion was Lucy Bowman and Runner up was Amber McKay
The Champion speakers will now compete at the Western Region Public Speaking Finals in Cootamundra on Friday, September 6.
Big congratulations to Emerson Mann-Rea who was successful in winning the Year 3 division. She will now compete at the Western Region Public Speaking Finals in Cootamundra.
"The whole competition was fun." Emerson said.
"And it will help to give me confidence when I am older."
