Although he insists he was bullied into taking part by fellow performer John O'Connor, Mr Fleming seems to be having too much fun for anyone to take the bullying allegations seriously.
"It's true. I was bullied into dancing by John O'Connor," Mr Fleming said.
"I want it on the record. Seriously though, I am happy to take part, because Can Assist is such a great cause. I am enjoying the process and am happy to take part."
Dance partner Maryanne Fitzgerald said that she is also happy to take part in the event and has had a long involvement in the Harden branch of Can Assist.
"I was one of the original members of Harden Can Assist, and currently am the treasurer," Ms Fitzgerald said.
"I am happy to take part because I believe in the cause."
Seven couples are attending regular training with dance instructors Kate Collingridge and Jody Potts, to take part in the event which will be held on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, 2019.
The couples will be judged on their performances, and on the amount of money they raise between now and performance night. They are fundraising in lots of different ways, including organising raffles and they all have collection boxes at various venues around town. Tickets for the event will go on sale on July 1, from Coopers Choice Cut Butchery.
"If I can give back to the community by looking silly, I am more than happy to do it," Mr Fleming said.
