Harden State Emergency Services (SES) Unit has had a change of leadership in the past few weeks, with Unit Commander Ros Bickford stepping down from the role she has so capably held for the last four years, in favour of Malcolm Edwards, who has now been appointed to the role.

Mr Edwards and his family have been active members of the Harden SES Unit for the past 3 years.
He is also a volunteer with the local RFS brigade, volunteers as a driver with Flexicare and is an active member of the Murrumburrah Historical Society.
Members of the Unit have said that they are very pleased that Ms Bickford will remain with the Unit as its Deputy Unit Commander to support and mentor Malcolm in his new role.
"I am very grateful to have Ros staying on to assist me with my new position." Mr Edwards said.
"She is a wonderful mentor and has a world of knowledge and experience."
Ms Bickford said that she will now undertaking studies to attain various qualifications in the emergency management area of the NSW SES. Throughout her studies, Ms Bickford fully intends to remain an active volunteer with the SES.
Members of the Unit would like to publicly thank Ms Bickford for her commitment and dedication, both to the NSW State Emergency Service but also to the community.
"Most people would not know how many hours each week she volunteers her time to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the Unit and training of new and existing members, as well as engaging with the public to teach them about ways to help themselves before and after storm events." Mr Edwards said.
"If residents would like to know more about being storm and flood safe, why not find us at the Truck and Tractor Show being held on March 17 at the Murrumburrah Harden Showgrounds, or call in to our headquarters on a Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm to find out more information."
