In the previous two years the award has been won by older students, so Poppy, who is in Year 4, is pretty excited to be this year’s winner.
“I am very excited to have won this year.” Poppy said. “It is such a beautiful trophy and I get to keep it for the whole year!”
Harden Murrumburrah Bendigo Bank branch manager Lisa Dean said she was very happy to present Poppy with the award.
“It is lovely to see someone as bright, caring and enthusiastic receiving this award.” Ms Dean said “Poppy is such a lovely little girl and I am sure this is just the beginning of her achievements.”
Poppy has already had a brush with fame this year, playing the lead character Alice in the Trinity School production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
“This is such a beautiful trophy,” Poppy said. “Perhaps if I try really hard, I can win it next year as well!”
