We saw the population explode and Harden Murrumburrah’s first ever recorded traffic jam in October with the running of the very successful Kite Festival.
We jumped for joy when funding was announced for projects that had been ignored for far too long; our Country Club, McLean Oval, Roberts Park, Harden Showground, the Museum and the bronzing of Bill the Bastard to name but a few.
But with the highs, come the lows. Our hearts broke for families and friends who lost loved ones; always taken too soon.
I have never ceased to be amazed at the generosity of the people of Harden Murrumburrah. Our community has raised thousands of dollars for charity, and still continue to give gladly.
Our community continues to thrive, despite the negativity of a small few.
The Harden Express has covered the growth and development of our community for over 70 years and with some certainty, I can say will continue to do so into the future.
I continue to be honoured that you allow me into your lives to record the ongoing history of Harden Murrumburrah, your growing families and your life events. I consider it a privilege to be a member of the Harden Murrumburrah community.
Our first edition for 2019 will be available on Thursday, January 17.
From the staff of the Harden Murrumburrah Express, I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. See you in 2019!
