The market consisted of 1335 lambs 153 hoggets and 606 mutton sheep.
The quality of the market overall, was similar to the previous sale, with only a few lead pens of lambs and mutton, and larger runs of store lambs and lighter mutton with dorper sheep supplied in good numbers.
Once again a number of major processors were not operating, although the market was quoted by agents to be mainly firm for lambs with the mutton market, at times erratic, and in some places up to $10 off the pace of last sale.
There was some good interest on lambs returning to the paddock, with re-stockers paying up to $120 for light well bred lambs.
Top price of the day went to Irene Morton of “Stockdale” Coolac with a pen of XB lambs making $181.20.
With an estimated CW of 26kg and wearing a small $3 coat, they came back at $6.80kg CW and went to Southern Meats Goulburn.
Most three to four score lambs were in the $6.10 to $ 6.80kg CW
There were no heavy mutton presented with medium weight ewes reaching $100.
Most mutton was in the $3.80 to $4.30kg CW.
Heavy Hoggets topped out at $ 160 to average $96. This market continues to be strong. Light store lambs $40 to $50, with heavier store lambs up to $115.
