I want to thank all the volunteers who contributed and in particular the very hard working committee comprising Julie Dempster, Wendy Medway and Nicole Scott who worked tirelessly all year. I am honoured to be part of this great hard working committee. I want to thank you all.
Since my last column I have been busy attending the various committee meetings where I represented you in particular and Hilltops Council.
I write not to blow my own trumpet, rather to keep all Hilltops residents up to speed with the job you have entrusted me to do and the following are some of these meetings I have attended: Harden Kite Festival Committee, Hilltops Environment Planning Committee, Hilltops Cultural & Education Precinct Community Project Steering Committee, Hilltops Financial Assistance& Sponsorship Committee, Hilltops Regional Tourism Committee, Lachlan Regional Transport Committee, Variety Livv’s Place Project Control Group, Galong Progress Association Committee, Murrumburrah Harden Local Health Advisory Committee and Jugiong Advancement Group just to name a few.
At Harden Kite Festival, our local State Member Steph Cooke MP, announced a $658,000 NSW State Government grant for improvements to the Harden race course and surrounds, which means that at next year’s Kite Festival, visitors shall enjoy improved facilities and parking shall be made easier.
