More than 1300 kites were delivered to Hilltops and surrounding schools, with all Harden primary students, receiving a kite to decorate, assemble and fly.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the simple pleasure of kite flying in the fresh air with their friends.
Bright, bold and colourful, the kites can also win students small cash prizes for the most colourful and best cultural kites or if they feel like making their own on the school holidays - the best homemade kite.
Residents and businesses won’t miss out either, by decorating their front yard or shop front with a kite theme.
Aside from the glorious kites, the festival will feature entertainment, amusement rides and market stalls.
On Tuesday, October 9 at the Harden library, there will be free colouring packs from 10.30am.
