Everyone got into the spirit. The Hawks are a great club to be a part of.

The young Harden Hawks player from Jugiong raised over $4700 over the past six months with the final ‘chop’ happening last Saturday night at the Carrington Hotel, surrounded by his team mates, family and friends.
“Leukemia research is a cause that is very close to my heart.” Tom said.
“I thought about it for a while and then my team mates got behind me and everyone really got into the spirit. The Hawks are a great club to be a part of.”
Fellow Hawks player Chris Salway, shaved his distinguished beard for the princely sum of $400 on the night.
The Leukemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave began back in 1998 and to this day remains one of Australia’s biggest fundraising events
According to the Leukemia Foundation website, Blood cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia, claiming more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.
“I was just happy to help raise some money for research.” Tom said. “Except my head is now very cold. Chris’s beard will probably have grown back by the weekend.”
