Three sisters from a Jugiong family have been attending the Forbes Eisteddfod for 11 consecutive years, even as babies to watch their older siblings.

This year, the Roberts girls Abbey, Rachel and Meg participated in the piano events.
Abbey, who is aged 8, took third place in the 12 yrs and under piano solo. She received a ‘highly commended’ in the 12 years and under Australian composition solo; a first in Open piano duet, performing with her sister Rachel and the Perpetual trophy for Most Promising Pianist 10 yrs and under.
Not to be outdone, Rachel, who is aged 10 years of age, received a first in the 12 yrs and under Australian Composition Solo, first in the 12 years and under Classical Solo, second place in the 12 years and under Jazz Solo and the Perpetual trophy for 12 years and under Piano Championship.
Rachel was also the Winner of the Sonata Premiership Abbey and Rachel are taught by Harden teacher Bronwyn Ryan.
Rachel has been learning piano since age 2, starting her early learning with Grace Wong, previously of Muttama. She is currently preparing with her teacher for her first National Eisteddfod in Canberra in September, and Suzuki Graduation which will be held at the Sydney Opera House later this year.
14 year old Meg is taught by Joanne Burrows, who is Head of Piano Studies Riverina Conservatorium and is currently studying 8th grade piano.
Her awards at the Forbes Eisteddfod included first place in the 13 years and over Classical Solo section and she was also named as winner of the Teenage Piano Championship
The girls not only are very talented pianists; Rachel and Meg were entered in Instrumental sections, both playing violin.
Meg received four first places including the Open Instrumental Championship. She was also awarded a prize for the Most Promising Instrumental Soloist of the eisteddfod.
Rachel won both of her 12 yrs solos and was placed third in the Open Championship, behind Meg and a talented Clarinet player from Peak Hill. She and Meg also won the Open duet section.
Their violin teacher is Tamaris Pfeiffer from Riverina Conservatorium, and they both have received some scholarship assistance at the Conservatorium following their successful audition last year.
Meg has been playing violin since age 3. She is currently a member of the NSW Regional Youth Orchestra who travel to various locations around NSW for workshops and performances.
