Lowanna Potts marched the BushHawks Under 10s league tag team to a convincing victory in game two on Saturday against Cootamundra.
Carrie Smith and Emma Craig were fast up the sidelines, making ground each and every time.
Grace Shea and Tamsyn Ritchie were always there, backing their players up with support when needed.
Erin Abnett and Katelyn McMillan made fantastic try saving tags under pressure.
Juliet O’Brien and Emme Kelly were brilliant in their defence, while Molly Kelly and Talia McKay demonstrated their kick-chase well throughout the game.
After coming home with a 28-4 win, the girls are looking forward to taking on Turvey Park this week.
Under 14s
The Boorowa/Harden under 14s had a gut-wrenching last-minute draw with Cootamundra last Saturday in a see-sawing game.
The Bulldogs got off to a good start putting on three tries before the BushHawks finally woke from their slumber and started to defend like they know they can.
Once they reined in Coota’s attack through good defence from Patrick Davis, Beau Abnett, Cooper Cross and Ferg Munns, BushHawks put together some attacking raids of their own.
A long ball from Cooper Cross to speed machine Will Fahey set Tom Wales up to score in the corner giving the home team a 14-4 margin at the Break.
The second half started a lot better for the BushHawks, with big defence once again from our forwards, with Joe Prosper and Mitchell Cassells leading the way.
The defence from our halves was outstanding, with Hamish Minehan and Aidien Hill chopping down their much larger opponents every chance they got.
It wasn’t long before Patrick Davis, the new hard man of the pack, set Beau Abnett up in the corner.
The Cooper Cross and Will Fahey combination was great to watch, with Will scoring three tries to give us a handy lead, 24-14. Few lapses from the kick-offs gave the Bulldogs a sniff and they took full advantage scoring twice taking the score to 22-24.
A great individual try from captain Cooper Cross out wide, and a missed conversion, took the score to 28-22 with two minutes to go. The home team regathered at the kick off and score three tackles later and convert the try – 28 all the full-time score.
Seth Hughston was solid at full back, Jesse Glover looks to have found a home as our utility, playing extremely well at hooker and wing, it was good to have Billy Ward back in the pack who along with Luke Dean gave valuable minutes in the middle.
The ever-reliable Logan Mears was great in a number of positions which isn’t an easy task. The BushHawks were the better team for most of the game but a few simple errors cost them the win. This is a very strong team that will give the competition a shake once they hit their straps
Under 15s
An undefeated Under 15s BushHawks came up against the Bulldogs at Cootamundra last weekend.
During the first half, they kept them on their toes matching tries for tries and conversions. James Collins scored one try, Joie Whybrow two tries and two conversations tying both sides at halftime, 16 all.
The BushHawks dug deep, Cootamundra came back strong in the second half scoring and converting from the whistle putting them in front 22 - 16.
BushHawks needing a lot of skill, speed and muscle to push back the Bulldogs for Ben Klose to make his first try for the season.
With no conversion, this left them still behind 22 - 20.
With five minutes to go Jake Christie was able to get over the line, giving the BushHawks a very close win 24- 22.
