IF YOU share 714,000 hectares with 18,900 other residents, then you are living in the beautiful Hilltops Council area. It is great to be part of a team of 11 councillors who have a wealth of diverse experience, are enthusiastic and working hard to deliver the best for our communities and above all, respect that all residents must have their say and play a big role in the decision-making process. The new council does listen to you, acts always on what we believe is best and want you to be involved in all decision-making processes.

We’ve recently joined with Canberra to form what is now known as the ‘Canberra Region Joint Organisation’ (CBRJO); a very strong tourism-minded group representing a population of around one million in the region. This gives us clout when negotiating with various bodies.
On Saturday I represented Hilltops Council by attending the quarterly Lachlan Regional Transport Committee meeting. From our perspective, the rail links from Maldon to Dombarton and Blayney to Demondrille, together with improving and possibly manning Harden railway station were on the agenda.
The bottom line is we want money from state and federal governments to make things happen!
