Peter Steinke has let his handicap drift out to almost his 18-hole handicap, but strike like a viper he has. Playing off 10.5 for this 12 holes par two point event, Peter has shot four over par to take it away this week.
A mere six shots better than his handicap, eclipsing the field.
Peter has surrendered all six shots to the handicappers keen knife-like blade in the lopping, and will resume duties this week of a meagre 4.5.
That will no doubt just set Peter a challenge and do not be surprised if he is in the placings despite this measly handicap. Ian Bruce is on his way back to form and was pipped by one shot/point by Peter for 29 points, whilst Jim Wright (28 points) and Mike McPake (27 points) were not far behind.

OUR little story about Eric Kuhn made the Ray Hadley Morning show on January 29. This scribe was heading deep into the Riverina for work, listening to 2MMM Wagga (1152) when a keen local has rang Ray on his morning show. They recanted the story, and Ray picked up a copy of the article from media monitors and read out the article chapter and verse. The Mighty Atom continues to seek popularity far and wide, even if it is via just being a bush bashing fire-lighting golfer these days, plying his trade, rather than as the all conquering Rugby League halfback from Weethallee.
This weekend
THIS Saturday the men are playing the February Medal, Guzzlers Mug and qualifying event for this year’s Kruger Perpetual Trophies. On Sunday we travel to Tumut for the Scott Fuller round three. As we hold a commanding lead in our pool, the travel points are very critical to topple Cootamundra as we are neck and neck. Get your names to the bar by Friday night when the fax across to Tumut happens for the Shotgun Start set out.
