NSW Parliament upper house member Wes Fang presented awards including a five year long service certificate and pin to Michael Bickford and a 15 year long service certificate and National Medal to Brian Farnsworth.
“These awards recognise not only our volunteers’ years of active service, but also their diligence and dedication to the safety of their community,” Mr Fang said.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke MP said there was no better time to recognise the work of the SES volunteers.
“Just this past week with the massive storms and localised flooding is an excellent example of the dedication of these men and women – who go out in all sorts of weather to ensure people are supported in times of crisis,”. Ms Cooke said.
“These volunteers, like Michael Bickford and Brian Farnsworth, really exemplify what it is to serve our communities in times of great need.
“My congratulations to both of them.”
