Harden Fire and Rescue were called to assist ambulance officers when the young man fell about two and a half metres through the ceiling of the home and landed heavily on the floor below.
Harden Fire and Rescue Captain Wal Leonow said the unit was called in to assist paramedics to transport the young man to McLean Oval, where he was met by the Toll Careflight helicopter.
“There was a possibility that the young bloke may have had spinal or neck injuries, so careful transportation was our main focus,” Captain Leonow said.
“The ambos and helicopter crew were able to stabilise his condition on the flight to Canberra, and the good news is that he is now back at home recuperating with his family.”
“The accident was a complete fluke,” Captain Leonow said. “All safety precautions had been taken, it was just one of those things.”
