HARDEN Soccer Club came home from the SWSSA semi finals held Saturday in Cootamundra with mixed results.
Proving that finishing minor premiers means little now, the 12/13 Coopers Butchery side started slowly when they took on second placed Coota Blue. The slow start was to prove costly, as they soon found themselves trailing by two. Spurred on by a home crowd sensing an upset, the Coota team managed to hold a fast finishing Harden, who fought back to 2 - 1, but were unable to find another goal to draw level. Harden must now play Coota White in Temora this Saturday for a spot in the grand final.
The 14/15 SFM Spreading team, fared better on the day, when they flew past second placed Temora to proceed straight to the decider. A strong 5 to 0 win, on the back of Corey Doohan's three goals, means this team must surely carry the tag of "favourites" into the Grand Final, a tag they have carried most of the season as they have led the competition more or less from the start. Wether the week off proves to be a blessing or a curse remains to be seen, and they will play the winner of Saturday's Temora v Gundagai final for the title.
