HAPPY to prove that there is more than one golfer in the house, Marj Manwaring has come out and put her foot down in the midweek competition. For the 12 holes and 24 point par, Marj’s result of 33 points is better than the men’s field average most weekends for 18 holes.

Unfortunately Marj has saluted the handicapper for her efforts and has been docked nine shots whittling her midweek handicap back to 18.5.
Billy Kildea demonstrated his well refined split personality this week by picking up second and third. On Wednesday Bill had 28 whilst on Friday he was still good for 27. Picking up 4th and warming back up to his role as honorary bridesmaid was Mike McPake who recorded 25 stableford points.
There were seven more players with 24 points and played better than their allotted handicap.

IT IS a Manwaring-a-thon – the ladies contested their NSW Keno State 4BBB to Par qualifier and Marj Manwaring and Pat Walker demonstrated they knew very well how to play this format, bringing home a very nice round of +7.
After daylight finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th, then came the next qualifiers in Ev Shea and Maryanne Fitzgerald with no score provided to the scribe. The ladies regional qualifier will be held at the not so flat Cootamundra layout on September 11.
