The volunteer group, staff and residents will take part in Crazy Hair Day, or Shave for a Cure, raising awareness and much-needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Julie Jackson, who is one of the staff, will be shaving her head to raise donations, while other not-so-brave staff members, residents and volunteers will be colouring their hair.
“We have organised this day as part of the Southern Cross Care’s Lifestyle program,” lifestyle co-ordinator Debbie Tonkin said.
“The residents get to join in on all the fun and contribute to the day for a worthwhile cause.”
“St Lawrence is like it’s own little community and activities like this promote teamwork between the staff and residents, it gives the residents a sense of contributing and promotes independence,” Mrs Tonkin said.
Donations can be made at Panthers Hair and Beauty or at IGA.
