It was an uplifting and inspiring day and I would like to thank all involved in making it a success.
Four incredible women – Elissa Pirotta, Kelly Eastwood, Ailsa Piper and Sue Read - spoke on a theme of ‘Love, Loss and Loneliness’.
Their speeches were personal and filled with passion, humour, and inspiring on many different levels.
For me, the best part of the day was the opportunity to connect with ladies from all backgrounds and experiences and realise that each and every one of us are inspiring in our own way.
I would like to congratulate Marie-Louise Corkhill, who was recently recognised as ACT Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and contribution to Canberra region women and their families in her role at Karinya House.
Another exciting Hilltops event is coming up with the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival to be held on Saturday, March 25, with the official opening at 2pm.
The festival transforms the town’s goldfield past into a brilliant and fun festival showcasing Chinese culture and food. All the sights, sounds and aromas of a traditional Chinese street market festival will be enjoyed in the streets of Young.
The Lynch Street post office block, from Boorowa through to Cloete streets, will come alive with colourful red and gold lanterns, Asian food, craft and market stalls, traditional martial arts performances, Chinese music, local performances and spectacular Chinese lion dancing to entertain the crowds.
Come out and enjoy the festivities and all that our wonderful region has to offer.
