Fellow employee Maureen Kaandorp was so impressed by the work the two ladies were doing that she approached Hans and Sue from H and S Metalcraft to find the perfect gifts, which they generously donated, once they heard the story.
“It can be very lonely for the residents,” Ms Kaandorp said. “Especially if they don’t have family that visit regularly. These girls have sung, danced, told jokes, anything they could, just to get a smile.”
Mrs Jackson and Mrs White, were deeply touched by the thought, but don’t feel they are doing anything out of the ordinary.
“It’s our job to look after the residents to the best of our abilities,” Mrs White said. “And if that involves singing and dancing, to make someone’s day better, well, why not?”
