This very popular “your hit – my hit” version of the game tests even the bests of friendships as the strengths and weaknesses of each players game is laid bare, and open like a wound to be picked at.
Make sure that your partners are lined up gents, tee times will be from around lunch time on Saturday and Sunday.
For those non-aligned, we will put on a ball sweepstakes but I am confident that spares can be teamed up in order to share the love between all of us for this wonderful event.
Holden Scramble just around the corner
Pencil Sunday, September 11 in your diaries, campers. These players will all be competing for the win for their team of four mixed ability golfers to make the Regional Final on October 13 or 14 at Yowani in the ACT.
From here, the chance to play in the National Final on November 24 – 26 at Twin Waters with PGA Tour Players Peter O’Malley or Stuart Appleby beckons.
This is the 25th year of Scramble, one less than our prestigious Bruce Ware Australian 2 Man Ambrose.
Being the 25th year, I am sure our hosts Jamie Harden’s Crew at Harden Geelan Holden Young will be looking to put on a great day as they always do.
Brian Wales back in form
After a tumultuous few months where he has seen the sights and bottomed out in the depths of his golf swing, Brian Wales announced he was back last Saturday.
Posting a rock solid par round in the Nathan Schofield Stableford last Saturday, Brian easily accounted for the opposition as the golf course continues to play long and tough judging by the field’s scores.
The ball comp went as far back as 32 points on a countback (4 over handicap) with recipients including Ron Kerr (35), Michael McPake (33) and Robert Bates 32 (c/b) who finished strong ahead of 4 others on the same score.
The Bendigo Bank Nearest the Pin Whopper Account Hole in One Hole went to Michael Baldry who into a driving 2 club + extra wind, put one to 5.04 metres to get the ball. Well done Mick.
