According to Harden Polocrosse Club president Peter Beal, the highlights came thick and fast and the weather could not have been better.
“The main game was a mixed final, which consists of three female and three male players and I believe our team was stronger than an A Grade team” Mr Beal said.
“But my standout player on the day was young Breeanna Trembath, she is an exceptional player.”
“Another highlight of the weekend was Lynne Maurer being awarded life membership” Mr Beal said.
“It was good to see her being recognised for all her hard work.”
In the final, Albury defeated Jugiong with a final score of 16 to 14.
Last weekend’s game in Tumut was cancelled due to the weather, but will be played instead on the weekend of the July 30 and 31. This weekend will also incorporate the zone awards for polocrosse.
This weekend the club is off to Jugiong where it is fielding three teams, including a junior team (under 16 years), who will be playing up into the adult competition.
“The great thing about polocrosse, is that people of any age can play” Mr Beal said
“We have players in Harden ranging from sub junior age (under 12) through to our two older men, who are 79 and 80 and still playing strong.”
