The Harden Shire has perhaps the most recent full citizen of Australia after the naturalisation ceremony of Nubba resident David Grant was the highlight of the November council meeting with the Harden Shire on Wednesday evening November 18.

All those who were present for the meeting in the council chambers in Harden, joined in with David in singing Advance Australia Fair before a proud David and his wife Louise left the meeting, but not before receiving a native plant and of course his certificate which he received from Mayor John Horton on behalf of the commonwealth of Australia.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Mr Grant spent a number of years living and working in Singapore where he met his wife Louise, who is the current Principal at St. Mary’s Primary School in Young.
