On Saturday they came up against Hillston in the quarter final. The match was played in continuous rain and there were some very wet bowlers at the end of the game. The local boys handled the wet conditions very well to easily defeat Hillston and make their way to the semi final against Barmedman on Sunday morning. It was very cold on Sunday morning but no rain.
Barmedman are a very strong team with several imports from Wagga and Temora.
We were expecting a tough match and it was certainly that.
There was little between the two clubs throughout the match but it was Barmedman who were winners by just two shots. It was a great effort from the local; boys against a very strong team. Barmedman went on to defeat Lavington in the final and now go on the state finals at Orange next month.
The local boys acquitted themselves very well over the weekend playing great bowls and were a little unlucky not to make the final.
