The store has been developed by the Krnc Group, which operates a number of IGA stores in Canberra and previously had an IGA store in Temora five years ago and developed a store in Gundagai.
Krnc Group director Steve Krnc said this week that he was looking forward to the store's opening next Tuesday.
He said he and three brothers, who the own Krnc Group, had been approached by the Harden Shire Council to develop the store and that the council had been very supportive of the development.
The store will be officially opened on Saturday, December 8, at 10am.
Mr Krnc said they saw good opportunity in Harden for a new supermarket.
"We thought this was a good opportunity and the numbers stacked up so we decided to go with it," he said.
He said the store would be offering a comprehensive range of goods and the store would carry the full range of items that they carried in their Canberra stores, including their lines of gourmet and imported products.
He said the range of items that would be stocked in the store would be one of their major points of difference.
"People find our range quite interesting and we will let the customers decide."
He said there would be a large range of discounts available when the store opened and these discounted prices would continue through to the new year.
