Construction is complete at the site, which has been delivered as part of the NSW Government's $304 million Multipurpose Service program.

Steph Cooke MP said the state of the art facility has been designed to meet the community's needs and will offer Emergency Care, Acute Inpatient, Integrated Primary and Community Health, Ambulatory Care and Residential Aged Care in a home-like environment.

"This fantastic new facility will be an asset to the Harden-Murrumburrah community and will ensure they can receive many types of healthcare in a modern and fit for purpose environment," Ms Cooke said.

"Seeing the excitement of community members, particularly at the home-like design of the residential aged care areas, is such a testament to how welcome this new medical service is."

"The Harden Murrumburrah Hospital Auxiliary have been instrumental in this and it was a real joy to be able to be with them as they toured this facility. I also want to congratulate the MLHD, Health Infrastructure and everyone involved in this project."

The new facility maintains its current 33 bed total, including flexible inpatient beds which can be used for both residential and inpatient care.

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District will now undertake operational commissioning of the building before the new facility opens its doors to the public in August.

Solar electricity panels have been installed on the new Murrumburrah-Harden Health Service to assist energy-efficiency and reduce running costs, enabling savings to be invested into the operations of our health system.

Next steps in the project include completion of the landscaping, construction of three new staff accommodation units and the demolition of the old hospital buildings.

The project is on track for completion in 2021.
