At 11.03am on Monday, police received a report that a Toyota Hilux had been stolen from a driveway in Temora, a short time later they received a complaint that the stolen vehicle was driving erratically.

The vehicle was sighted by police and was seen to ram through a rural fence and onto the Burley Griffin Way.

The vehicle was sighted a short time later driving erratically in Temora.

Some time later the vehicle was sighted by police from the Riverina Highway Patrol on the Goldfields Way.

"The vehicle continued into the township of Barmedman where the driver accelerated and rammed through a rural gateway onto private farming paddocks," police said.

"Police followed the vehicle through several paddocks.

"A short time later police witnessed the stolen vehicle ram through a closed farm gate and travel onto Nobbys Road."

Police said the driver turned onto the Goldfields Way in a northerly direction, then turned down a further rural driveway and entered a private farm at Yiddah.

"The driver drove toward a farmhouse and again rammed a wire paddock fence with the stolen vehicle, where the wire was entangled and caused the stolen vehicle to become undriveable," police said.

The driver was arrested by the Riverina highway patrol officers in the vehicle a short time after.

The driver, a 36-year-old male from Junee was taken to Temora Hospital for blood/urine testing.

He was then taken to Temora Police Station, interviewed and charged with six offences, then included: take and drive conveyance, unlicensed driver, three x pursuits and driving under the influence drug.

He was bail refused and appeared at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Tuesday
