Within a week of the announcement that gyms were being put in lockdown Hard Rock was holding classes online.
"We scrambled to get equipment into the community as well as set up online classes," Hard Rock's Glenn Stewart said this week.
Previously Hard Rock Gym had never run online classes.
"Currently around 30 locals have taken advantage of online classes and 20 others from around Australia including other trainers seeking to network and increase their skills," Glenn said.
"Its been been great having support from our community.
"Our members who usually work out on their own haven't missed out either and have taken advantage of loaning out equipment while maintaining there gym membership.
"Whilst losing around 75% overall we are extremely thankfully for all the support we receive.
"We have farmed out to the community everything from Olympic weight combos, spin bikes to treadmills and class equipment packs," Glenn said.
While gym members are continuing to exercise Glenn stressed the importance of everyone in the community maintaining their fitness, inviting others to join the classes.
"It's so important for everyone to maintain or look to improve their health at this time," he said.
"Good physical health is a massive plus towards good mental health. Taking part in classes is a great way to get fit and stay connected with others, community is everything.
"The Zoom format has proved a good resource with plenty of interaction as well as closed Facebook groups dedicated to each class keeping mates in touch."
Hard Rock is offering online Spin Bike classes as well as TRX Suspension Training, Core Focus Class, Modified Boxing for Fitness and Home Boot camp.
"It's so weird instructing in what is now essentially five different studios but its still great catching up with all my Hard Rock mates," Glenn said.
If anyone would like to get active and join while feeling isolated please contact Hard Rock Gym via their Facebook page or Glenn on 0409384444 and Ros on 0406379561.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to all suffering at this difficult time," Glenn said.
