The money is part of the Hilltops $1 million Drought Communities Extension program.
Funds will also be spent on bulk-water standpipes at Young, Harden and Boorowa ($235,000); weed control ($200,000); an upgrade of the Boorowa Rotunda ($50,000); kerb and gutting in Nea Street, Young ($32,500) and: Burrangong Creek pathways ($82,500).
At its February meeting Hilltops councillors rejected a plan to spend $400,000 of $1 million in Drought Communities Funding on footpaths in the shire.
"As a group of councillors I believe we can come up with a much better plan of how to have the money spent," Hilltops mayor Brian Ingram told the February meeting.
Council staff had presented a report to the February meeting seeking to spend $400,000 of the funding on footpaths.
A subsequent council workshop recommended that in view of the condition of the amenities block at Harden Pool; that $400,000 be nominated for a significant renovation of the building with the potential for a full rebuild if funds allow.
