Playing rock-solid golf during the current turmoil and tumbling handicaps from the new world handicapping system implementation, Hawkins cornered the market at Saturday's monthly medal.
Hawkins brought in a round of 77/68 to claim the day's event, A Grade medal, A scratch (on countback from Kevin Hoppe) and Guzzlers Mug to cap off a huge day. Not happy with that swag of titles, Hawkins also claimed nearest the pin on the Bendigo Bank hole in one.
In B Grade, Mr Consistency Bernie Parker stepped up to the dais again.
Parker is in the zone at the moment, chugging along doing his thing. And that thing is good work.
Despite four-straight scores of six, Parker brought it back into line for an 87/72 to claim the B Grade scratch and medal.
Balls on the day went back to 73 nett and were taken by Nathan Hawkins (71), David James (72), Bernie Parker (72) and Herb Manwaring (73). The random medal carton draw was claimed by Ron Page in what was a popular win.
SOLAH MEDAL
Claiming her first Saturday win, Jacqui Solah jumped up into the big leagues with victory in the March medal. In what was a tough day out on the links, Solah shot 76 nett to claim the day. A ball was claimed by Toni Filmer on 79 nett.
MIDWEEK PAUSE
Unfortunately, due to the much-needed rain and combined with the greens treatments, play for midweek did not take place last week.
This week, everything is back on track with a vengeance.
STABLEFORD
This Saturday will see the new feature of this year's golf program, that being a more unified all-in series of events.
This Saturday will be a medley stableford with all members welcome. Tee-off from midday, with presentation when the last group is in.
