Wombat Public School is a small school with a strong school spirit.

The school is excited to provide a safe and happy environment that focuses on developing high academic expectations for each child.

It was first established in 1868 and the staff, working under principal Angela Bennett, are pleased to be continuing to offer high quality education, to the community and generations of families, 152 years later.

Students attending the school are drawn from the village of Wombat itself, as well as from surrounding properties and neighbouring towns.

This year there are two classes, comprising students from years K-2 and 3-6 with two full-time teachers, one part-time teacher and many fantastic support staff and volunteers.

The school aims to radiate a close family atmosphere with the students belonging to more than just a school, they are part of a strong community that encourages strong student wellbeing.

Every student is known, valued and cared for in our school.

Wombat Public School is proud to offer a kitchen garden program, tutor-led music sessions with Young Regional School of Music, STEM projects and technology for each child.

There are library facilities, an extensive playground with a large fixed-equipment area and a strong P&C committee that supports and values the growth of the school and its education.
