Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate is confident he will be cleared of potential wrongdoings after Queensland's corruption watchdog made blistering findings against him.

The Crime and Corruption Commission has made multiple referrals to the Office of the Independent Assessor after an investigation into the council.
Key findings relate to Mr Tate and Wayne Moran, his chief of staff and former election campaign manager.
The commission found Mr Moran inappropriately interfered in council business and failed to properly declare conflicts of interest.
When council chief executive Dale Dickson tried to step in he was blocked by Mr Tate, and that action could amount to misconduct, according to the CCC.
It also found Mr Tate had spent thousands of dollars in excess of council allocations for donations, billed a corporate credit card for leather luggage and spent almost $1000 on two selfie sticks.
One of them was for his daughter, which he later repaid.
But Mr Tate says he confident he'll be cleared.
"I've been referred to OIA, I think, over 60 times," he told reporters on Friday.
"I don't have a batting average because they've all been dismissed, to have an average, you've got to have one not out.
Complaints assessed by the OIA that are found to amount to misconduct can be prosecuted through the Councillor Conduct Tribunal or the courts.
Findings of inappropriate conduct are referred back to council to investigate.
Mr Tate's alleged failure to record his interest in a racehorse has already been probed and is awaiting a Councillor Conduct Tribunal hearing to determine whether it is misconduct.
He is no longer a syndicate shareholder of the horse.
