Usually not a lot however, the group falling under the banner of RAGA SHAMBHALA (meaning bridging the Himalayas) is holding a virtuoso concert in the Murrumburrah Courthouse and the proceeds from the supper and sale of raffle tickets will go towards funds for the writing of a play about our Twin Towns by a group of ambitious play writers members of The Murrumburrah Writers Group.
The Writers Group is raffling a local pastel scene by award winning, resident artist Pam Heys, in an attempt to augment the vast level of reserves required to write and produce the play.
It's proposed that the play will be performed locally and, also be entered in relevant competitions, with the hope that the Twin Towns will, through the play, attract even more day-trippers and holidaymakers, especially if the play is performed elsewhere.
To become involved either attend the concert on January 19 and purchase a $5 ticket for supper (included will be a $2 raffle ticket) or phone Robin Cooper on 6386 2100.
Tickets also will be sold at the next Makers Market to be held on Sunday, February 16.
The tickets, $2 each or three for $5's, will be drawn at 2 pm on that day and the winner will be announced in the Twin Town Times.
The funds will be justly used, for instance the sale of one ticket could go towards covering important telephone calls to possible donors; five tickets could provide funds to purchase vital research for the play and the sale of 10 tickets could become part payment towards vital computer programmes which would greatly assist the co-ordinator of the historical play writing project, Marty Boyle, playwriter.
